Uni Clothing Essentials Haul!

Before I go to Uni I decided that there were a few essential pieces of clothing that I need before I go. I didn't purchase any of these as they were a treat of my Granny for my results and getting into Uni. So here goes...

The first thing I got, i picked up a while ago so you may have seen it before. It was this faux leather jacket I picked up in TK Maxx. I think that a leather jack is an essential as it can be used all the time to dress up and outfit, but i do just love it!
The next the I got was coincidentally  from Next. They are these boots. As I know I am moving up north for Uni I know that it is going to be chilly and may get slippy. So I need some sensible boots that will keep my feet warm and last for most my time at uni. These boots are really comfy even from the first time I have warn them and have paired them with these woolly leg warms I have from a few winters ago. You can see these here.

Jeans were something I was lacking in my wardrobe. But over the past year the only jeans I can find that fit me and do short leg seizes (because my legs are tiny), are the Topshop jeans. So I picked up these darker ones, to wear through Autumn and Winter. The style I like are the Leigh jeans that sit perfectly on my hips. Theses jeans are on the pricey size but they last for a really long time so I feel they are worth the investment. You can find these ones here.
The last thing I know isn't exactly and essential but I saw it and fell in love. It is a mint green thin knit long sleeved jumper with this beautiful lace over lay on the bottom. I picked it up in Dorthy Perkins and i think it will be perfect with a statement necklace and a pair of boots, and is thin enough to layer with a jacket for the colder months to come. You can see it here.

I hope you have enjoyed this and if they are any going to uni post which you wish to see feel free to leave your suggestions down in the comments.

25 Things to Do This Summer Update #1

Hey so today I am going to update you on how I am doing on the 25 things I planned to do this summer. If you haven't seen the original post you can do here.

I am going to go through the first 12 things i planned to do, so lets get started!

1. Spend as much time with my family as possible.
I feel I have been doing well at this and have been spending almost every day with my family. Here is my favourite photo, from when my cousins, one of my cousins exchange students, my sister and I went to Cadbury world. Yes, yes we are surfing on a bar of Dairy Milk!
2. Bake lots of cakes.
Of course I have been doing this and here is a picture of a Victoria Sandwich I made for my Grandma's half family who came over for lunch.
3.Visit the beach at least once!
Yep, this happened when I was on the cruise and I went to Niece. I know this picture isn't of me on the beach but I absolutely love this photo I took as the waves hit the beach.
4. Have a cute picnic in the park.
I have had some picnics one of which was with a friend which due to our luck start with us sitting in the car as it rained! Hahah!

5. Say 'Yes' to something I would normally say no to.
This one is hard. I can quite think of one incident where this happened but I am sure it has.

6. Go to as many BBQ's as possible.
I have been to 2 or 3 BBQ's and I know there are a few more to come this summer. However I have not managed to take any photos.

7. Go on an adventure with out a plan.
Well for this I went with no clue what the plan was even though there was a plan made buy my Auntie and this was my surprise trip to London which I absolutely loved.
8. Start my new series on my Blog!
I have been so busy I haven't got round to this yet, but I promise I will!

9. Take more photos.
I have been doing this and getting my new iphone has helped. Love my camera and it is always in my bag where ever I am. This is one of my favourite photos. It is of Bearded Dragon (which I really want as a pet) in my local garden centre. Isn't he beautiful!
10. Have smore's on camp.
Unfortunately this didn't happen but i'm sure I can squeeze it into a late night BBQ!

11. Make the most of every day, that means no crazy lie-ins.
I'd like to say that I stuck to this but, I can't. But I can say that every day I have been doing something useful, whether that be shopping for uni and spending time with family!

12. Do something active every day.
Well I can't say that I have ran a marathon everyday but I have been moving. Over the summer I have swam, rode a bike and carried shopping bags (i'm sure that counts).

I hope you have enjoyed this follow up post and the update #2 will be up in the next few weeks!

Cruising around the Med!

I am sorry that recently my post haven't been on a regular basis, I have been so busy that getting a chance to sit down and write a blog that is post worthy is a bit tricky. But I will try and get back on the regular schedule.

So as a big family holiday this year we went on a Royal Caribbean Cruise around the Mediterranean. We flew to Barcelona, and hopped on to the boat. The boat made stops at Marseille, Vilefranche (Nice), Pisa, Rome and Naples (Pompeii).  The cruise was amazing we got to see some amazing place, eat some amazing food and had some amazing entertainment.

I didn't want to go through every single day so here are a selection of photos to give you a taste of what I got up too.

Our Boat!
Our Boat was sponsored by Dreamworks so we saw a lot of these guys around the ship.
Our view at the dinner table.

Food on board was amazing!

My Surprise Trip!

Last week my Auntie had told me and my sister to save 3 days as we were going on a surprise trip. I had no clue where we were going. Monday morning we were picked up and dropped at Coventry Train station and found out we would be going to London. When we arrived we checked into the hotel and then it was time to get into London.

We first visited Convent Garden for a snack. Then it was back to the hotel to get ready for a surprise that Katie and I didn't know about! We then hoped onto the tube and then we then arrived at the Ritz. My Auntie had booked us in for Afternoon Tea at the Ritz. If you know we you will know that I love Afternoon Tea and afternoon tea at the Ritz is the epitome of afternoon teas. The experience was amazing, the staff were so attentive, as soon as I picked up my tea pot that would take it off me and pour it for me. They replaced the sandwiches and pastries as soon as we had eaten them. This is something I am never going to forget and am so grateful for.

The next day is what we called Adventure Day. This started with another surprise we arrived at the O2 arena. The surprise was to concur the Up at the O2. This is climbing the over the arena. It was such a cool experience.  And the view from the top was amazing you can see the Business area of London as well as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park.

After the O2 was concurred are adventure day continued. We hopped on the tube to Hyde Park where we rode the Boris Bikes around the park and also had a ice lolly to cool down as it was really hot.

The final day was shopping day, we headed to Oxford Street and we spent some time shopping. A tank-ini from Primark, Shorts from Forever 21 and a necklace from H&M.

When shopping we were also handed some samples on Oxford St. these being two full tubs of Flora gold and a Diet Coke!

One thing I haven't covered is the food. We ate a lot of food and may have had a few cocktails as well so here is a little collage of  some of the food over the whole trip!

Here are some pretty photos of London I took whilst I was there:

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my surprise and if you want to see other photos from the trip check out my sisters blog here. To see what I've been up to like my Facebook page  and make sure you never miss a post make sure you are following my blog on Bloglovin.

Festival/Camping Tag!

So for the lack of blog last week as I was away as a leader on a D of E expedition and Talk Becky Talk has recently created the Festival/Camping Tag. I though this was the perfect opportunity to share my beauty camping tips and share some of the accessories I would take to a festival, with you.

Products
1. Suncreams- That is both face SPF and Body SPF. I really like the Boots Once Face SPF and it is really moisturising and absorbs into the skin with out feeling heavy. It is also slight tinted so it doesn't leave your skin looking white or chalky. The Soltan invisible sun cream is a great all over body sun cream it isn't heavy and gives the skin a glow as well as protection.
2. Moisturiser- This is an important one when you are camping and spending a lot of time outside. What ever moisturiser you like, take it with you. This is one I really like, as it just a plain moisturiser with no fragrance, but is super moisturising.
3. Micellaer Water/ Wipes- When camping there is not always the time or sink to have a proper face wash so alternative are needed. I love micellaer water as you pop it on a cotton pad and you make up just dissolves off you face and it is rinse free perfect for camping. But if not get hold of some good quality face wipes, such as the Yes Too wipes that I really like as well.
4. Make Up- My tip for this is keep it simple. Just the basics, a light BB cream you don't want to be wearing anything too heavy, concealer for the imperfection and under eye circles and then just a mascara.
5. Lip Balm- Being out in the element means you lips will subject to suffering and therefore needs protection and hydration. The best balms would be the ones with SPF but i have been really liking this Mint Balm from Superdrug.
6. Dry Shampoo- You may not be able to shower on camp. But that is what dry shampoo is for it will clean hair as well as adding volume. I have been loving the Batiste Tropical, as it smells amazing and just like a fruity cocktail. Yum.

Accessories
1. Sun glasses- These are a must if camping in the sun, aswell as accessorising the are protection for you eyes.
2. Bun Wrap- This one is from Claires it is just a simple bun wrap that an be tide round a bun or pony tail and just adds that little bit of summer.
3. Daisy Crown- This is perfect for when you hair is down in it natural wavy state, and is a must for festivals.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the products and accessories I use when I go camping. Here are a few photos I took of the weekend and I hope it shows that camping isn't that bad.
My Humble Abode otherwise known as Tent!
View form the Roaches Tea Room
View from Hen Cloud

Summer Beach Cupcakes!

It is time for so summer baking. And if you are having a BBQ or summer picnic and are not on a gorgeous beach, these cupcakes will make a perfect addition.
I used a basic vanilla cupcake recipe. Add all ingredients to a bowl, and mix until light. Bake in an oven at 180c for 12 minutes or until golden brown.

100g- Self raising Flour
100g- Butter
100g- Caster Sugar
2- Medium Eggs
1 tsp- Baking Power
1 tsp- Vanilla Extract
To decorate I uses a basic buttercream half or which I added blue food colouring too.
100g- Butter
200g- Icing Sugar

To make the sand I used crushed Shortcake Biscuits, but you can use any biscuit you like. For the details I used mini cocktail umbrellas which I found on Ebay and these Dr Oetker Jelly Slices as little beach towels. To assemble I spread the plain buttercream icing on half of the cupcake and sprinkled on the crushed biscuits. Then piped on the blue icing in wave and added the details.

I really enjoyed making these cupcakes, they are easy yet look really good. I hope that you you a go and if you do show me your pictures via my Facebook page  and make sure you never miss a post make sure you are following my blog on Bloglovin.
